    • First mention in NC in land patent 1711,270 A on NW side of Bennetts Creek (now Gates, NC) Commissioned Assistant Justice of the Peace of the court of Oyer and Terminer in 1729. 1738 elected Vestryman of St. Pauls Parish, Chowan County and served until 1747. Associate Justice of the peace of the Surpreme Court of North Carolina. He signed his will on 02/20/1755 in Chowan, NC. He bequeathed land on the White Oak River.
      Came to North Carolina before 1720, and was associate justice of the colony, 1724-30.
