  • Notes
    • From the Pueblo Chiefton (Colorado)at the time she was married (1887).
Miss.Van Keuren was born in Kingston New York and five years ago, she with her mother and brother, her father being dead, moved to Pueblo. Her brother, Mr. Henry Van Keuren is head bookkeeper at the steel works and was talked of as a probable mayor of Bessemer in the last election. They reside on the mesa. Miss VanKeuren has for years been assistant principal of the Mesa High School. She is one of the most popular young ladies and is highly esteemed by her pupils and friends as an amiable gentle and refined girl. Her companionship is much sought after by those who can appreciate the society of a friend possessing fine intellect, a fine womanly instinct, and a natural grace and charm of manner. She is a fluent and captivating conversationalist and her beauty is a fitting attribute to her acquired accomplishments. The bride is a native of Kingston New, York. Her mother came to Bessemer some years ago to make a home for her sons who are in the employ of CC&I Company. Miss Kittie studied in the Denver University for two years and then was given the position of assistant to the high school which position she occupied until the first of the year. Her work was highly appreciated and her resignation received with regret.
