Alexander Cosby, Esq., Continued to exercise the martial power given to his father, apparently without formal grant, he seems to have been engaged during the whole of his life in warfare with the o' Mores. Alexander Cosby obtained extensive grants of land, by the influential connexions at Court, grants in Ireland (in Leix) so extensive that, at one time, the family were the territorial lords of more than a moiety of Queen's Co. which lands were mostly taken from the o' Mores.
