- His obituary in the Syracuse Newspaper stated he died at his home at 300 Wellington Road in DeWitt. He was a retired administrative assistant at St. Joseph's Hospital, having retired in 1972. Prior to that he was in the insurance business for many years. He was one of the founders of the DeWitt Fire Department and was the first elected chief of the department serving from 1933 to 1967. He later became a DeWitt Town fire commissioner and was a former police commissioner. Prior to coming to Syracuse, he was a fireman in the City of Worchester, MA, and a policeman in Upton, MA. He was a member of DeWitt Community Church, the DeWitt Rotary Club, the DeWitt Kiwanis Club, the Liederkranz Club, and the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce. He was survived by his wife, a daughter Mrs. Susan Lang of DeWitt, and a son Peter of Andover, MA.
