Notes |
- According to "Hungarians and Europe in the Early Middle Ages" by Andras Rona-Tas, the Magyars, were originated in western China and absorbed conquered people and allies all the way to Hungary, arriving more "Caucasian" than "Mongoloid" by the time they reached Hungary. There is the possibility that the Magyars are somehow descended from Attila The Hun (a frequent claim by Mongolian groups).
Supposedly Andrew, who was murdered by a rival (Bela, I believe) left his wife, Anastasia, who fled to a Duke of Bavaria for protection. In so doing, she presented a gift to this duke, a sword belonging to her deceased husband which had belonged, she said, to her husband's ancestor, Attila
- (Medical):by his rival Bela
