• Notes

  Capt Reynold Marvin was probably a younger brother of Mathew Marvin (1603-1687) of Hartford and Norwich, Conn. Reynold was living in Hartford, Conn in 1639 then moved to Farmington and soon after to Saybrook, Conn. He was made a free man in 1658. His will dated 13 may and probated Oct 28 left a large estate to his son, Reynold and the daughter, mary. See Marvin Gen., Boston 1848 by T.R. Marvin , 8 VO PP36.Also see the Salisbury Memorial in New Haven, Conn. Capt Reinold Marvin was an immigrant forefather from Eng. He was a celebrated Indian fighter. Capt Reynold Marvin was one of the founders of Old Saybrook, Ct. 1635-1660
