      Grandfather. An excerpt in the Day Family History states:

      "Sarah Day Boone was a Quakeress and is reported to have taught herbrother in
      law, Daniel Boone, to read and write."

      Samuel Boone, born 1728, married Sarah Day, who died in 1819. Theirdaughter,
      Mary Boone, married Leonard Bradley and lived in St. CharlesCo., Missouri,
      where Daniel Boone died.
