  For many years Walter Houston had two passions: his career as an engineer and his vocation for the stage. In 1909 he dedicated himself to the theatre and had ups and downs until his debut on Broadway in 1924. Since 1929 he worked in Hollywood.. He participated in various types of roles as well as in various types of genres and became over the years a prestigious and respected actor of the movies. He also won an oscar for Treasure of the Sierra Madre, The (1948) as supporting actor.
