Several persons named Thomas Bayfield were born in Norfolk, England and in London, England.
Dear Cheryl J. Brackney,
I am very interested to see your discovery that my great-grandmother was named Emily Peterson. I would be interested in knowing your source. (I suspect that your source may be your own mother, as she might have known this.)
I cannot find anybody named Thomas Bayfield or Emily Peterson on the 1880 Census. They must have been living in Chicago at the time. Can you think of a reason?
The 1880 Census shows that Howard Creighton Sloan had five brothers and sisters in Buck Valley, Pennsylvania. I have not been able to find out any trace of any of them. Do you know what happened to them?
There were several persons named Thomas Bayfield born in Norfolk England or in London England in the early 1800s. Do you know which one may be my great-grandfather?
Actually I have a giant-sized family bible from the early 1800's and it was a family bible of Tho. and Emily and her maiden name is listed there as well as Tho. actual obituary from the local paper - I did find them on one census
and have a copy of the doc but we are in the process of moving and it is packed and in storage at this point. You're right though, I couldn't find them on the 1880 either.
I can't seem to get further back then these two either - so, that is where I will pick up my research after we settle into our home. I'm in school full-time and running a full-time business right now so time is short.
