  1. Catherine's school teacher was her future husband, Matthew Brown, and had also taught her brother, Christopher, and the parents of Thomas Hays in the school house standing on the farm of Alexander Foster, grandfather of Mrs. Thomas Hays. 2. Catherine was a twin to Thomas Foster as recorded in Matthew Brown's bible. 3. Catherine's will was written September 23, 1892 mentioning her daughter Elizabeth C. Harrald (family spelling is "Harrold"); sons John A. Brown, Harrison Brown, J. M. Brown, and T. B. Brown; Lina J. Chesebro'; E. P. Chesebro' as executor; witnessed by Mary Lewis and J. W. Hill; probated April 8, 1898; and to be fully administered on or before April 8, 1899 as ordered by S. S. Laughlin, Register For The Probate of Wills in Clarion county.
