  • Notes
    • Rene Auberjonois first came to prominence in the role of the military chaplain in the film version of M*A*S*H. However, even if his face has since become familiar to movie buffs around the world, and he has built a solid reputation as a stage actor, he is principally known to millions of television viewers as the constable Odo, in the popular science-fiction series STAR TREAK DEEP SPACE NINE. Odo is a mysterious alien, a shape-shifter, i.e. a being who can change his physical shape at will, who, for a long time, was haunted by the mystery of his origins - believing that he might be the sole survivor of his race -, until it is discovered that his people are, in fact, a ruthless race of empire-builders.*
was born into an already artistic family, which included his grandfather, a well-known Swiss painter, and his father Fernand, a writer. The Auberjonois family moved to Paris shortly after World War II

Besides acting, he is an accomplished gourmet cook, a painter and a photographer. He is also a vocal supporter of various charitable organizations. He regularly donates the proceeds from the sale of autographed items at conventions to such organizations.*

He won a Tony in 1969 for "Coco"
