  • Notes
    • Lord Duffryn

Eunydd came to Powys to assist Bleddyn ap Cynfyn, whose rule lasted from 1063 to 1075. He could scarcely have been born after 1055 and probably nearer 1045. A great-granddaughter of Llewelyn Aurdorchog (Bartrum dates him to 1030, but 1005 is more likely) could not possibly be the mother of Hunydd. If Bartrum's dating is accurate, such a lady probably was not even born in the lifetime of Eunydd. In any event, the pedigree of Sir William Maredudd of Stansty (a descendant of Eunydd) makes it clear that the Eunydd in his pedigree who married "Efa vz Llewelyn ap Dolphyn" was born near 1200. That lady occurs in the 7th generation after Llewleyn Aurdorchog. I'd guess the two men named Eunydd were mixed up because both seem to have had a son named Heilyn!
