    • Commander in the royal navy. Shipmate and friend of the Duke of Clarence, later William 4th of England. Given a grant of arms, pedigree reorded at college of arms in 1840.
      According to the Greenwich list, Lt Roll 1792, of french decent. Retired commander 1829, the DNB states that he was twice wounded, thrice shipwrecked in action. He was twice thanked in despatches for cutting out gunboats at Boulogne in 1801/2.
