      It is said that her father, whith his two daughters, Helen or Ellen Stewart Moore and Rennie Moore, came to the Colonies when the children were two and three years of age, having his own ship, and returning to scottland later, leaving the children in care of a relative. He was never afterward heard from, and it is supposed the ship was lost, or he had been killed in the rebelion going on at that time. He was thought to have been a cousin of Sir John Moore, the noted English General
