  Deputy Governor of the Provence of New Hampsh ire in 1630 Captain, Portsmouth Alarm, 1643. Came in 1630 to Portsmouth A f actor of the Company of Laconia he was of Dover in 1648 Came as a factor or steward with Walter Neal in 1630; seems to have begun a plantation at Newich ewasick ( part of Kittery which bacame Berwick) in 1631. Romoved later to Dover . Had a suit in Court in 1641. Was chosen one of the Town Commissioners and fir st selectman 22 (2) 1648. His wife was Rebecca and his only dau. Rebecca m Henr y Sherburne. Made his will 11 Jul 1656 "On his sick bed," it was probated on 9 May 1657. and bequeathed to 8 children of Henry Sherburne, to be paid them at the ages of 21 & 18.
