    • EVERETT TIPTON, VETERAN NEWSMAN, DIES AT FALLBROOK
      FALLBROOK (Special) - Everett H. Tipton, 62, a veteran newspaperman of Far Western and Rocky Mountain states, died Sunday night at Fallbrook hospital. Mr. Tipton, who moved here 11 years ago with Mrs. Tipton to enter a semi-retired life on their ranch, had been ill since June. He had been in the hospital eight days [weeks].
      Until June, Mr. Tipton had alternated between Los Angeles and Fallbrook where for the first six months of this year he had been news editor of the Fallbrook Enterprise. In Los Angeles, where the Tiptons had moved in 1928, he had been with the Los Angeles Examiner. Mr. Tipton had been with the Associated Press for many years during which time he had served in Denver, El Paso, Cheyenne, Santa Fe and other cities. He was the author of many short stories, largely of Western theme.
      Mr. Tipton was born April 12,1894, in Pioneer, Texas. He attended the University of New Mexico and served two years in the Navy in World War I. In addition to his widow, to whom he had been married in 1920 in El Paso, he is survived by a son, Lamar Tipton of New York, and a daughter, Mrs. Keith Sills of Escondido.
      Funeral services, which still are pending, are in charge of Berry-Bell Mortuary.
