  • Notes
    • Information on the entire Kinnison line from Edward Sr. to Margaret V. Kennison came from Jan Riess (riessjt-at-vt.edu) , address to Patricia Gilbert and is contained in an email that was copied to Monty Hart on Oct. 26, 2000 with an attached file named "Kinnison October.rtf" which contained Jan's geneology "Descendants of Edward Kinnison, Sr.", No source information was provided. The email also contained the following message;

      Pat,

Here attached is what I have in my data base.

      Census info:

1850 Census, Andrew County, MO, Jackson (postoffice or local community_ p. 119

Dwelling in order of visitation: 1204
Vamily Number in order of visitation: 1184

      Davis Kinison, 46, M, Physician
      Mary A. Kinison, 25, F
      Sarah K. Kinison, 16, F
      Ann C. Kinison, 13, F
      Mary L(?) Kinison, 11, F
      Caroline Kinison, 8, F
      Margaret V. Kinison, 5,
William F. Taylor, 1, M (Thinking Mary was a Taylor maybe this is her nephew
John Morris, 14, M (no idea here)

In a note from Nancy at Sftrail-at-aol.com who did a look-up for me:

1860 census, name spelled Kennison (family #996) Andrew Co., MO

      Davis, 56, VA
      Mary 46, VA
      Caroline 18, VA
      Alverda 15, VA (female)
      William 12, MO

In the Familysearch website I found:
      Sarah C. Kinnison, m. Obed T. Roberts, 8 February 1855, Andrew, Missouri

Now, I have two different points of view about the line from Davis on
back. One side, that I tend to believe, shows the line as I have pointed
it out on the attached report. The other would have you believe that we
went back through Charles to David (Wottaman) Kinnison, the last survivor
of the Boston Tea Party. Both of the proponents are very fervant in their
beliefs so we are no longer having conversations on the issue.

I have a note that Davis died in Old Boston, Texas. Sorry but I think this
information is just a bunch of new leads. It looks as if the Alverda was
Margaret V. Kinison in 1850 and was going by maybe her middle name in 1860.

I know that Charles' wife was known as Mattie (Day) and so Mattie could
      have been a family name.

Let me know when you take a look at this and see what you think.
