  • Notes
    • Very little is known about Samuel White because of his early death.
Samuel was born in 1860 and was raised by his mother during the Civil
War while his father was away. Samuel was also a farmer like his
father and grandfather, but never owned any land of his own. Samuel
and his wife Mattie were blessed with four children, but he never saw
his youngest daughter. In the spring of 1893, he was stricken with
Typhoid fever and died a short time later. His only son Bob remembered
very little about his father since he was only six at the time of his
death, but he always remembered standing in the corner of the Bellwood
Cemetery under a large tree as his father was laid to rest.
