      Chief of his line; In 1606 Richard Cosby darel the O'Moores to a pitched battle, and total defeated them at the battle of Dunnamace, ( in the Glyn of Aggnabily, under the rock of Dunnamace, in Queen's Co. Ireland; after the O'Moores were never agane able to make open war against him; After the battle, being hevaly wounded he was taken to the home of Sir Robert Pigott ( of Dysert ), who's daughter Elizabeth nursed him back to helth, and then they soon married. (abt. 1607) Cpt. Richard Cosby, Esq., after this battle, to distinguish himself from the rest of the family, obtained a new grant of Arms (1608): to replace the papers which the O'Moors distroyed by fire: equal unto the old.

      Arg.(=silver or white), a chevron, between three leopards' faces, sa(=black);
      SYDNEY:
      1st quarter: on a canton or (=yellow), a saltire vert (=green), between a cross crosslet in chief gules (=reds), a lizard erect in the dexter, and a salmon in the fesse point of the fourth, and a dexter hand couped in base of the fifth;
      Crest: on a wreath of the colours (white and black), a griffin segreant gu (=red)., supporting a broken lance, or (=gold or yellow), the head, arg. (=white);
