  • Notes
    • Viscountess Newcomen
      Baroness Newcomen of Mosstown

About 1770 she married William Gleadowe who thereupon added the name Newcomen to his. He was M. P. for the County of Longford and, on 16 November 1781, was created a Baronet.

On 31 July 1800, 'in consideration of her husband's services', she was created Baroness Newcomen of Mosstown and, subsequently on 11 February 1803, Viscountess Newcomen. However, Sir William's support appears to have cost the Government £10,000 besides the peerage to his wife.

Sir William died at Killester on 21 August 1807, and Dame Charlotte at Bath on 16 May 1817.
