    • Thomas, born at Ribston 12th March, 1708 was educated for the Church, but eventually entered the Army, receiving a commission as Ensign in the Regiment of Foot commanded by John, Earl of Rothes, 8th February, 1738. He was Lieutenant Colonel in the 25th Regiment of Foot. His will, dated 19th July 1757, was proved in London, 29th July 1803. He married, at St. Margaret's, Rochester, 26th June 1757, Elizabeth, daughter of James Button, Esq., of Rochester, and by her, who was living July 1803, he had
      1 John, a captain in the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards, who was killed at York Town, Virginia, 15th March 1781, aged 24.
