    • Edmund was the foot-man to King Henry VIII. One day while out hawking, the KIng's horse leapt over a ditch, but struck a pole, causing the King to fall into the clay at the foot of the ditch. Edmund jumped into the ditch and lifted the King's head out of the water, saving him from drowning. On Oct 6, 1541, Edmund was rewarded with "means and (a coat of) Arms".
