  • Notes
    • In 1773, John Ramage received a Royal Grant consisting of 500 acres of land located near Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church. The land had been surveyed in 1772 and the grant was signed in 1773. The land was located near the land granted Joseph Adair (Index to Mermorial Grants, South Carolina Archives, Vol.28,pg 112.)
During the late 1980's documents were found that would prove that John Ramage of Laurens District, SC was an American Patriot during the American Revolution. He was among the Patiots who were a part of the American invasion of East British Florida during 1778.
A monument in memory of John Ramage and his family is erected at Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
