- Bunker's "Long Island Genealogies" states: LANGDON FAMILY (pg. 233) (On
Long Island - when it was under Dutch Rule, and part of New Amsterdam)
Gilbert Opdyke had a contract with Alexander Briam "he to deliver
September 16, 1655, to Thomas Langdon, three hollows over the run at East
Meadow." In 1660 Thomas Langdon sold this to Robert Williams, Carpenter.
(this was adjoining property to Richard and Martha Washbourne Willetts.
Aaron Furman sold in 1662 (property which he bought of Adam Mott)
-formerly the Christopher Foster dwelling place) to Thomas Langdon. (Place
not stated on Long Island, probably Hempsted,L.I.?) Thomas Langdon died in
1666 on Long Island. His son was: Joseph Langdon and his wife was
Elizabeth: they had: John Samuel Thomas died at Jerusalem, L.I. 1732-33
left a widow Mary. Sons Joseph and Thomas at Fishkill
Son Jonathan on L.I. dtr. Elizabeth married Capt. John Birdsall
dtr. Deborah married Mr. Lewis William Hannah Mary/Mercy who
married Hope Willets Joseph
