      Clovis, another of Dagobert's sons, succeeded him in 639 A.D. as monarch of the kingdom of Neustria and Burgundy, under the control of his mother, Nantechilde, and two successive Mayors of the Palace,Aega and Erchinoald. In 651 A.D, he married the future St. Bathilda. He was succeeded by his son, Chlotar III.
