    • The London Record Centre is actually called the London Metropolitan Archive.
It may seem odd to look there as it's the old London County Council archive and the LCC wasn't formed until 1888, but its creation made several other forms of local government redundant, so their records landed up there.
That's where quite a lot of the St George the Martyr records are.
There's some more St George the Martyr records in the Guildhall Library in the City.
These tend to be parish council records.

Grave of Fox, Guion and Albers family

    Dear Sir,

We have checked the details contained in your email and confirm that Charles James Fox along with his family are buried here at St Mary's Cemetery.
However it regrets me to say that these graves are no longer in exsistance, in the late 80's these graves were covered and more graves have been devolped above. I must stress that none of the graves have been disturbed in any way, although we would not be able to pin point exactly were the grave would be.

    Yours Sincereley

  • Notes
    • I presume Mary Ann Guion was taken care of by Aunt Charlotte Guion, who wrote Gardiner a letter aug 1798 and died 4 Aug 1800.
From aug 1800-aug 1802 by ???, and from 1802-1806 by Harriet her stepmother. After 1806 perhaps by her gmother who died may 1811.
Her father's brother Daniel married 1809 Sara Ponsonby and died dec 1811 at the Danish coast near Ringkjøbing.
Did Anne Mary stay with Sara after the death of her gmother?
    • Volgens de "Copy of Faircopy Draft Will of Mm (Sara) Guion, signed 1867", zou Anne Marie 2000 pond erven.
John Tory of 41 Norfolk Street Strand London and Charles Pooley of Raglan Circus Weston Super Mare Sommerset, her (Sara's) friends, were the trustees.
    • Sara Guion, widow, late of Southampton, died at Weston super Mare, Somerset 16 June 1873, left a will proved by Charles Pooley, surgeon, valuated at £12,000.
He proved it as soon as 3 July, but there is a memo that a decree for a will dated 11 Nov 1867 was made after an action at law, Lloyd versus Pooley.
