Glendurgan
Glendurgan Garden which lies in a delightful valley where its
exotic and tender plants are protected by the sheltered location.
Alfred Fox came to Glendurgan in 1820, built the house, then shortly
after began creating the garden.
In 1833 he planted the laurel maze,
recently restored by the National Trust to be enjoyed only from a
viewpoint.
Subsequent generations of his family continued to develop
the garden until 1962 when Mr and Mrs Cuthbert Fox gave Glendurgan
Garden to the Trust.
